Shorter Cross

This is a cross (looking like a gatepost), sitting between Middlecott and Chagford, which can easily be passed. The cross sits now right on the road, and this is thanks to Major Yolland who took it from Middlecott Farm and returned it to its former site. The cross is believed to be from Saxon times, which dates it as 7th to 9th century. This is a granite pillar with a cross carved into it.
