Shipley Tor

Shipley Tor seems like an easy walk due to Shipley Bridge being so close and its modest height but in fact the land below the tor to the south is private. This means a walk to the bridge upstream before doubling back to the tor. There is a small path that runs alongside the river on the eastern side and it is possible to rock hop across the Avon at the cascades if the water is low enough, or you end up walking back downstream for about 1/2 mile to the bridge that crosses the Avon. That said once on Shipley Tor you get good views across to Brent Hill and round to Western and Eastern White Barrow, whilst the River Avon can be heard below. There are no military areas near this tor.
