This is a low outcrop sitting on the side of a lower part of Mardon Down overlooking Stacombe Farm. The views are like that of Doccombe Rock to the east of this one, with Blackingstone Rock across the valley and the main part of Dartmoor to the west in Haytor, Hound Tor and Hameldown. To the north west you will also catch a glimpse of Cosdon Hill. There is a good path to the west of this outcrop which comes up from the hamlet of Doccombe, alternatively you can drop down from the main car parking area on Mardon Down beside Headless Cross. There are no firing ranges near here.
