Standon Hill is a pretty bulky lump of a hill. It sits between Tavy Cleave and Lynch Tor and even though it looks fairly easy its actually a bit tricky to get to. The only flat area is behind the hill, coming from Lynch Tor. Otherwise its a pretty steep slog up to the summit and the military paraphernalia that sits at the top. This hill is on the edge of the Merrivale firing range and the Willsworthy range as well, hence two huts sit at the top. The views are pretty good as well, south to Great Mis Tor, Roos Tor and White Tor, across west to Cornwall and northerly to Hare Tor or round to Fur Tor. Well worth the effort
