This tor starts just inside the entrance (stile and marker post) of Shaptor Woods, if you are coming from the north western side. Cross the stile and turn 90 degrees left and walk upwards, small rocks will start to show but keep going for about 100 metres to see larger outcrops emerge and then further for some huge outcrops. This is a large woodland tor for sure. From some of the uppermost outcrop you will get a fabulous view out over the canopy. A real gem of a tor in a hidden location. The main path below needs to be left to get to to this one, but its not by more than 150 metres uphill. There are no military areas near here.
