Whiddon Wood Tor

This is a tor of two parts, one in the trees and a small section out of it. The part in the trees is full of large boulders, either side of a wall, especially on the eastern side. With a second part out of the trees, which consists of a small outcrop with some great views to Cosdon Beacon and Castle Drogo. Great Parford Tor down the hill is a better outcrop with better views, but this is pretty good. Head up to this one by following the path along the bottom by the River Teign, on reaching a wooden gate with a wall head upwards following the wall to this spot. No military areas near here

Whiddon Wood Tor ahead, the lowest outcrop is just outside the trees, but head up past the bushes and into the wood along the path and you will see more

Looking back the other way with Castle Drogo peeking above the trees across the valley. Cosdon Beacon is back left

The wall which runs up from the main path along the southern bank of the River Teign is also here. Either side of the wall are outcrops. There is a gate lower down (about half way up the long climb) if you want to be on the other side. You could also climb the wall easily
