Wood Hill Higher Tor

This tor used to sit within a steep sided wood of fir trees on the eastern side of the B3212, between Westcott and Heltor. However the trees have been removed, as of the end of 2019, and there are now some views from the 2 tors that used to sit within. You now have a view across towards Mardon Down and down the valley which holds the B3212. To get to this tor will involve a bit of road walking, the quieter road is that coming from Heltor Rock, or you can walk over the fields from the hamlet of Heltor, as the road turns and drops down, you can walk into the area that would have been woodland, be careful underfoot as there are plenty of branches and trunks left on the floor making it hazardous. There are no military areas near this tor.
