Chagford Church

St Michael’s Church in Chagford has certainly been around since 1251, but there is evidence of a 12th century Norman font and a possibility of a church type building being here around 500-700 AD. Since the 1250s, additions have been made and stained glass added, although it is said one of the windows is still original. Some of the pews at the back of the church are from 1865. The church sits in the centre of the village of Chagford, opposite the pubs and cafe’s and is clearly one of the best looked after churches in the area.
