This cross sits beside the road linking Howton Farm and Uppacott Farm to the north west of Moretonhampstead. The cross sits very near to Linscott Tor, which is 20 metres away and is clear when walking the lane. This cross has been used previously as a gatepost at least once, and has fallen over at least once as well. This explains its current condition with an arm and its head missing.
