Northmore Cross

A tiny little brass cross that is stuck to the top of a rock overlooking Fox Tor Mires and Nun’s Cross Farm. The cross was placed here in 1980 by Bill Northmore to give gratitude to Dartmoor for a life of enjoyment from working in the area. However in recent times the cross has been broken off from the top of the rock which is a true shame. In case it returns and to protect its location I won’t publish a map of this one.

*Update Nov 2019, the cross was replaced back in the summer of 2019 and now resided again in situ. I visited in Nov 2019 and took the second picture. Let’s hope it stays in place.
