Cathanger Rock

This is an outcrop sitting on the western side of Corndon Down as it descends towards the hamlet of Sherwell. Its a fine outcrop with some amazing views to the north towards Cut Hill with the Princetown mast easily in view to the west. The amount of clitter below this rock would suggest it was much larger previously, suggesting that it should perhaps of had a ‘tor’ title. The easiest way to this rock is to park beside the Cave Penney memorial, and walk out along Corndon Down to the outcrop. There are no military ranges near here.
