This outcrop sits on Lower Elsford Farm between Trenchford/Tottiford reservoirs and the A382, the land is obviously private however if you follow the path through the farm which heads towards Eastwray Barton, as you head into the trees and East Wray Cleave nature reserve there is a track which parallels the farm before climbing steeply to a gate 20 metres from the outcrop. On my visit the owner was there and he said I was welcome to look at the outcrop, there is also no private signs on the gate, just the farm name, so perhaps they don’t mind us walkers having a little look. If you don’t want to walk to the outcrop standing by the gate is easily a bag in my book. The views from Elsford Rock are stupendous to the eastern side of Dartmoor proper, with Cosdon Hill in view and down to Haytor. No military areas near this rock
