Gidleigh Tor

Talk about Gidleigh and it won’t be the tor or even the village that come first to mind. For a lot of people it will be nearby Gidleigh Park, home to the michelin starred chef Michael Caines. The tor itself sits just off a good path, on land with forestry around it. I would say this tor is on land that can be accessed by the public, although I can see the forestry owners being annoyed by this! I went here when in was snowing on a Sunday so as not to bother anyone. The views across to Kestor Rocks are good from here however with this tor being in trees they block views in other directions. There are no military areas near here.
