This is a couple of small rocky outcrops sitting on the side of White Ridge next to Fernworthy Forest. Both are pretty decent in size and are big enough to be seen from Stannon Tor. This is also the best way to get to this spot, there is a decent grassy path leading up to the White Ridge from Stannon Tor, whereas coming from the north will involve wading through knee high grass, especially in summer. The views from here are vast, the southern moor is laid out in front of you and Ryders Hill stands out from this outcrop. To the west you get a good view from the lower outcrop towards the East Dart river as is flows towards Dartmeet, and beyond to Higher White Tor and the Princetown mast. There are no military firing areas near to this tor, unless you head a couple of miles north past Sittaford Tor.
