Wheal Exmouth

This mine sits in the Teign valley and was one of the largest in this area, especially once it was linked to nearby Wheal Adams. Wheal Adams opened in 1810, and Wheal Exmouth in 1853, however by 1875 both areas were empty of the lead and silver extracted here. The engine house is now a converted domestic property with the chimneys still in place.
