William Donaghy memorial

Dropping down from Hartland Tor you will find the William Donaghy memorial mixed in with the gorse. As it says he was found here in February 1914, having disappeared from Liverpool in November 1913. All he had was a train ticket to Exeter and a train station locker stub. A gun was found in the locker. A sorry story of a teacher who worked in Warrington. The gorse grows up around this memorial on occasions so keep an eye out for the feint path to it.

The area holding the memorial. There’s a holly tree/bush to my right here, find that and then head down to the river and the path. Then walk towards Postbridge looking up into the holly for a large boulder and the feint path
