Plym Ford

This is a ford of the River Plym not too far from the river source at Plym Head. The ford itself sits on the Abbot’s way, an old path linking the towns and churches of Tavistock to Buckfastleigh. The crossing itself isn’t too bad, in summer when water levels are very low then its possible to use the stones to cross. At other times when rain has fallen that isn’t possible but head up or downstream for 10 metres and you’ll find that the river is around a metre wide so can be jumped.
