This cross sits in the village of South Zeal near to Okehampton in the northern part of Dartmoor. Sitting beside the chapel of St Mary, this tall cross sits on a high plinth in the grounds of the church and was repaired by a South Zeal local called John Stansbury in 1838. He scratched his initials into the base of the cross but other locals took umbridge to this and scratched out his initials!
