Blackadon Tor

A bit like nearby Leigh Tor, this one sits on its own, with a kind of out and back path to reach it. Parking up at Leusdon hall, walk down the hill, past the Leusdon church, and look out for a walled path on your left. This leads to Blackadon Down and then up to the tor. The tor, depending on your visiting time of year, could well be fairly covered with greenery (middle of summer) or looking fairly bleak and uninviting (winter time). Either way the views are pretty good for a small tor such as this, with Chinkwell Tor and part of Hameldown to the north, and Leigh Tor to the south. East the ground first falls down to the river Dart before rising again to Buckland Beacon. There are no military areas anywhere near this tor.
