Brat Tor

Brat Tor or the ‘one with the cross on it’ for those that don’t know its name, sits on the western edge of Dartmoor, its also goes by the name of Brai Tor. The cross on its summit is that of Widgery Cross, placed there for Queen Victoria’s Jubilee in 1887. There is a fantastic vista from this tor to the west, with Cornwall laid out below you and views to Bodmin Moor. Brat Tor is also a popular stop off on the way up to Greak Links Tor. The easiest route to this tor is from the moorland car park behind the Dartmoor Inn near Lydford. Brat Tor sits near to the Willsworthy and the Okehampton firing ranges so check firing times before venturing too far beyond Brat Tor.
