Claig Tor is one of the tors I have added to my list, the reason, well it is a tor, it has good views and can be easily reached!! It sits about 30 metres above the quarry car park at Burrator and just off the old Princetown railway track, which is now a well walked path. Being so close to the car park, that is the best spot to start out from, heading up the path and round to the tor. Once there carry on along the path towards Princetown, there is a couple of options from there, you can carry on to the far end of the reservoir or cut off half way and walk back to the car park, making a simple couple of miles walk. The views from the tor along Burrator reservoir are excellent, also across to Sheepstor and the church. No military firing areas near this area.
