Coffin Wood Tor

As the name suggests, this is a tor in Coffin Wood right by the river Tavy. Be wary on approach to this tor, if you are following the Lych Way path from Lydford and are looking to cross the stepping stones near this tor then don’t do so after rainfall, summer is best for this crossing. If you find your way blocked then head back up the Lych Way and drop down to the bridge near Standon Farm. The certain way is to come down from Bagga Tor along the Lych Way again and head in to the woodland on your left. The tor sits overlooking the river Tavy, and is surrounded by fencing to warn of the steep drops. There are gates however, giving access to this steeply situated tor. The views are obscured by the trees especially in the summer however this is a tor which you will bag on the way to another place, maybe sit a while and listen to the river below, before moving on. There are no military areas in the near area of this tor.
