Conies Down Tor, like nearby Devil’s Tor, is not one of the more substantial rock structures on Dartmoor, however it does offer one of the best views of the Cowsic River as it wiggles its way below you towards Two Bridges. This tor can be tough to get to as the ground to the south is normally pretty boggy but it is best reached either from Holming Beam over Black Dunghill and up to the tor via the stone row situated to the west. Or from Beardown Tor, where you would join the Lych Way crossing the Cowsic River at Broad Hole before heading up to Conies Down. Conies Down Tor lies within the Merrivale firing range please check the flags and lights at Holming Beam or Beardown Tor before heading in to this one.
