This isn’t an easy tor to find despite it being marked on the OS maps, however it seems to be marked further west than it actually is. There seems to be part of the tor just over the wall by the path under Sourton Tor (red arrow below). However East Tor is so named because it is east of the village of Sourton, and they identify East Tor as the lower parts of Sourton Tor instead (black arrow below). The basic rule is head south west away from the trig point on Sourton Tor and the last crop of rocks is East Tor. You can also count the ones over the wall as well as the OS maps seem to point to these. There are fine views west from here as with all the tors along this side of the moor. This tor and nearby Sourton Tor do not sit in the Okehampton firing range, however head a mile east you will hit it, so beware if heading that way.
