Great Nodden, or the Pudding Hill as it is known due to its shape, is a fine hill with great views. It sits separated from the rest of Dartmoor by the River Lyd and its steep sided valley. The views westwards, like all the tors along this side are far reaching, all the way to Cornwall and Kit Hill to the south west. You also get a decent view of Great Links Tor and south to Arms Tor. Great Nodden is not within any of the military firing ranges. The best approach to this hill is either from the south and Nodden Gate along the good path or from the north taking a spur off from the Rattlebrook railway.
