Lowery Tor sits on the side of Peek Hill overlooking Burrator Reservoir. The majority of people visiting the top of Peek Hill will be unaware of the exposed granite below as it cannot be seen from the top. The views down to Burrator capture the eye here, with views continuing on to Plymouth Sound in the distance. The views back to Leather Tor and round to Eylesbarrow are also very good on a clear day. Its a tough climb up here from the reservoir below, which means the easiest approach is from Peek Hill or Leather Tor, where you are dropping down to this tor. There are no military ranges near here.
