South Down

South Down sits on the edge of the north western corner of Dartmoor. It lies just north and west of the Meldon Reservoir with a clearly marked public bridleway passing over its summit, this is the best way across this hill and linking it to the tors around Sourton or with Homerton Hill/Longstone Hill on the opposite side of the reservoir makes for a good walk. The views to the north are blocked a bit by trees however to the south is the huge bulk of Yes Tor beyond Homerton Hill. There are no military ranges around this hill.
