Chalk Ford

This is a crossing of the River Mardle as it starts its way down to join the River Dart at Buckfastleigh. It is named on OS maps and is more importantly part of the Two Moors Way. This is a lovely spot for a picnic in the summer and should be fairly quiet as it requires a decent walk out from Scoriton, all uphill, and is also in an unspoilt part of Dartmoor. This is just a simple wooden bridge and a ford next to it crossing the river with some grassy areas to the southern side.
