No not the scouse comedian, but a fine worker who lived in this spot. John Bishop worked in the nearby tin mines and lived here for a number of years, his house is still in reasonable condition and had a roof on it until the 1960s. It’s a simple house with the fire place still obvious and the lovely Swincombe Bridge nearby. The Swincombe farms are a short distance up the hill and this would have been a nice area to live, being quite close to Hexworthy.
