Mary Tavy Church

This is a church built in the 13th century and added to extensively in the 15th century. It is built in the classic Dartmoor perpendicular style and was refurbished in the late 1800s. The most important part of this church for me isn’t in the building itself, although that is lovely, but is in the graveyard. Here lies William Crossing, author of ‘ A Guide to Dartmoor’, which is probably the most important and accurate book about Dartmoor, that there is.
