St Paul’s in Yelverton is a new church for Dartmoor, built in 1912 and sits in the village of Yelverton, about 5 miles north of Plymouth. The builder of the church was not a fan of pews, instead choosing rows of chairs and each of these chairs now has an embroidered hassock, organised (and a fair number of them made) by a local lady, Joan Price. Each hassock is of a local scene, badge, animal or emblem and is a work of art in itself.
