Beardown Man

Beardown Man is a large standing granite stone (menhir) near to Devil’s Tor in central Dartmoor. It stands around 3.5 metres tall and is the second tallest on Dartmoor behind the one at Drizzlecombe. It is also the menhir at the highest altitude, at 542metres above sea level. The reason that it is here is unknown but a waymarker is a possibility.
