Oxenham Cross

This cross sits high on a bank beside a road out of South Tawton, heading towards the entrance to Oxenham Manor. It was used by local hamlets and farms as a guide to the church at South Tawton. As with a lot of crosses this one has been damaged and found broken in various hedgerows around this area, with William Crossing among others restoring it. It was finally placed in this location by the Dartmoor Preservation Society in 1951.
