Skir Ford Cross

Skir Ford Cross sits in a bit of a dip between Skir Hill and Down Ridge, not far from the O Brook. There isn’t much of a view from here, however the cross served a valuable purpose as it was part of the old Monks Path from Tavistock to Buckfast. This cross is one of many on Dartmoor that has been damaged by time, weather, animals or vandalism, this one has been restored with the iron pins clearly seen.
