Black Tor (Shipley Bridge)

There’s not much to Black Tor at Shipley Bridge to be honest and most people walking to Avon Dam from the car park may not know that its there, sitting high above the tarmac path below. It’s worth a visit though, even as a quick stopping off point, especially on the way up to Western and Eastern White Barrows from the parking at Shipley Bridge. The views down to the valley below are good and the views to the south and west open up nicely. There are no military firing ranges near this tor.
