Crane Hill

Not the easiest of places to get to being surrounded by Fox Tor Mires one side and Plym Head on another, meaning boggy, tussocky walks to get to it! The best path is probably up from Nun’s Cross farm with good views across Fox Tor Mires to the north. Once at the top, there is a kind of grassy lump that seems to suffice as the top, from here the views are brilliant. Looking down the Plym valley towards Plymouth or back across to North Hessary Tor and the mast, it’s well worth a visit. There are no military firing areas near here.
