This is a nice little tor that is usually part of a longer walk to Pew Tor. The views from here, like Pew Tor and nearby Heckwood Tor, are especially good northwards towards Cox Tor or over towards North Hessary Tor. If walking from the Cox Tor car park on the B3357 you will pass Windy Cross and walk over the brilliantly named Grimstone and Sortridge leat to this tor. There are no military firing ranges near this tor.
