This is a small tor at a lofty altitude, sitting in between the two high points on Dartmoor, Yes Tor and High Willhays. As you walk between these two you can’t fail to notice the rocky outcrop or two beside the path. This is Hampster Tor. Some people don’t like the fact that this tor is named, preferring to include this as part of High Willhays. I’m including it as its a decent sized outcrop and has a distance before High Willhays. This tor is within the Okehampton Range so check the firing times before heading up here. Being so high the views are 360 and stretch away to the North Devon coast line, I find the easiest way here is to set out from Rowtor and follow the army tracks to the saddle below Yes Tor and then head up here.
