Hart Tor is a kind of unassuming tor hidden away between South Hessary, Cramber and Black Tors. It is another tor easily reached from the parking spots along the B3212 Princetown to Yelverton road. It is surrounded (like nearby Black Tor) by cairns, mining history, settlements and stone rows. There is also an old military rifle range to the north used back in the 1800’s. Apart from the 19th century one there are no firing ranges near this tor. The views are okay back down the valley of the infant River Meavy, towards Sharpitor and round towards Leeden Tor and on westwards to Cornwall. But apart from that there is higher ground around this one limiting the views a bit.
