North Park Tor

This tor sits (for now) within woodland to the east of Gidleigh Tor, on the T of Gidleigh Tor if looking at an OS map. If you approach from Gidleigh village itself and head along the track after the gate, as you enter the woods you will see the tor to your right. The outcrops are typical of a large woodland tor, similar to those in Shaptor Woods or Wray Barton. The tor spreads over a 3 or 4 outcrops, each of which are a decent size. The fir trees above make for tricky photographs, however the felling in the area suggests it won’t be long before this outcrop is open to the elements again. For now the pine needles below the feet provide a soft traverse to this tor, however the views are obscured for now.
