Pil Tor is a tor sat in a clutch of tors sitting to the east of Widecombe. You can easily visit 6 or 7 tors within a couple of hours around this area and the views from each are pretty good. Pil Tor stands prominently, especially when looking from the road that heads north from Cold East Cross. The views across to Haytor are particularly good from Pil Tor as well as down to Widecombe to the west. The best approach to this tor is along good paths either from Cold East Cross or from the nearer car park on the B3387. There are no military ranges near this tor.
