Pin Tor is a small tor in the north eastern corner of Dartmoor overlooking the Teign valley. Its an easy tor to get to with roadside parking to the lane to the south and north and a paths up to near the summit from both sides as it crosses the hill. The views are reasonable especially north and east as a  patchwork of fields stretch out. Mardon Down can easily be seen to the south east however Butterdon Hill blocks a lot of the view to the south west towards the main Dartmoor tors and hills. There are no military areas near here.
