Higher Cherrybrook Bridge

This lovely stone bridge carries the B3212 road between Two Bridges and Postbridge. It obviously spans the Cherry Brook on its route south towards the Lower Cherrybrook Bridge and the West Dart River. This bridge probably goes unnoticed by many, although the bump in the road and curve are obvious. This area is where the Dartmoor Hairy Hands myth is located, driving along this road, particularly at night or in mist, could cause your steering wheel to change direction and your vehicle to leave the road, or so the myth goes.

The B3212, the car park is to my left here. The bridge bump is just down there and the Hairy Hands myth is along this section of road. I have seen a motorbike go straight on here into the grass, requiring an air ambulance to pick up the rider, maybe the myth is true?
