This is an old stone marker post which sits beside the road between Gidley Bridge and Deancombe. This was used by the monks to mark the way between the old priories at Tavistock, Plympton and Ashburton. The grass on the roadside can be longer, hiding this stone so keep a sharp eye out for it as you walk along the lane.
