The Avon Dam and Reservoir was completed in 1957 and as its name suggests it sits on the River Avon north of Shipley Bridge. It’s a reasonably small reservoir, however it is a lovely spot that is very easy to get to on foot from the Shipley Bridge car park via the tarmac road. Personally I tend to take the right hand path to the dam as this allows me to pick up the good path around the back of the reservoir in order to extend the walk.
