Hookney Tor

Hookney Tor sits on the eastern side of Dartmoor and is fairly easy to get to with many car parks available along the Two Bridges to Moretonhamstead road. Views are extensive on a clear day especially to the east with other good views down the valley to Challacombe. Grimspound Bronze Age settlement dominates the near views as it sits at the foot of Hookney Tor, with Hameldown Tor rising to the other side. The Two Moors way runs across the top of Hookney Tor providing a good opportunity to link this tor with its neighbours, particularly Hameldown to the south and Shapley Tor to the north. Hookney Tor does not lie in any military firing area
