Like Calveslake Tor, which sits lower down on the slopes of Little Gnats Head, this place can be tricky to get to. It’s a decent walk whichever way you choose to get here and will probably involve crossing the River Plym at either Plym Steps or Plym Ford. Setting out for here will either involve starting at Gutter Tor or possibly Peat Cot and walking to Plym Ford from there. Being slightly higher than Calveslake Tor you get a better outlook from the top. The view along the River Plym is from a better angle and the views to Eylesbarrow make you feel less closed in than you do lower down the hill. Its a lovely spot where you can find a piece of solitude with the source of the Plym not too far away. There are no military firing areas near here.
