Like nearby Black Dunghill or Cocks Hill, this place is a bit of a dull spot. The only excitement lies to the south with Conies Down Tor and the view along the Cowsic Valley. This is a fairly flat, featureless hill, full of cotton grass and boggy depressions. Come here in mid winter, and unless its frozen, I would expect wet boots!! The Lych Way runs just to the south of this hill providing a reasonable track to get near to this area, the other option is parking at Holming Beam. Either way the territory around here is tough walking and its no surprise to note that this hill sits inside the Merrivale firing range, meaning troops will get to share in those boggy areas!! Obey any red flags flying on Beardown, Holming Beam, Lynch Tor or Great Mis Tor.
