Goldsmiths Cross

Goldsmith’s Cross sits on the edge of the Foxtor Mire between Nun’s Cross and Childe’s Tomb. The cross itself is part of the Monks Path between Tavistock and Buckfast and there are plenty of other crosses in this area along that route. This cross was re-erected in 1903 by Lt M Lennon Goldsmith after he found it broken in this location. The top half of the cross could not be found hence it’s stumpy form today and the metal pins holding it together.
