Corndon Tor

Corndon Tor, like its neighbour Yar Tor, is a simple walk from the car park on the main road to Dartmeet. On the lower slopes you will pass by the Cave Penney Memorial before heading simply up to a small granite outcrop. northwards from the tor you will find at least 3 ancient bronze age cairns that date from 1500BC as Corndon was home to a fairly large settlement. The views in every direction are excellent especially across to Haytor Rocks. There are no military firing areas near here.
